I used to frequent the Cabaret back in the late 80's and early 90's and remember despite how seedy and dirty the place was, the dancers were friendly, pretty, and very enticing. I recently returned to the Cabaret after a business trip after a nearly 20-year hiatus and was pleasantly surprised to find the club had been renovated and cleaned up. Bravo to the owner(s) who invested money in the club and improved its appearance and cleanliness. Now, why did I give Cabaret only 2 stars? For these 4 reasons: 1. The cover charge at the door is excessively expensive; come guys this is Peabody, not Las Vegas. 2. You cannot purchase anything in the club using a credit card - it is cash only. So, if you show up planning to spend your cash on the girls, and charge your drinks to a card like I often do, you can't. You will be forced to use the in-house ATM machine with obscenely high fees to get cash to finance your night. I guess if you have a jealous wife or GF and don't want her to find out where you were on a weekday night, this could be a built-in forced advantage. For me, it's an inconvenience 3. I ordered a glass of chardonnay as I did not feel like drinking beer that night - it was lousy and cost me $9 - I bought one and split. 4. The dancers at the club the night I went- they were not that pretty, had bored looks on their faces did not want to work for my hard earned money, and at least one wreaked of cigarette smoke. One dancer made a bee-line for a chair next to me, sat down, and immediately asked me for a lap dance without at least chatting me up. I did not accept and she sat there for at least 20 minutes staring into her I-phone furiously banging away at the screen and typing messages, hoping perhaps by some miraculous divine intervention, I would change my mind. Girls, if you read this review, this is not the way to get me to empty my wallet on you! If you do go, to Cabaret, try a weekend night; perhaps the dancers are of better quality, don't buy the wine, stick with beer, and make sure you hit the ATM before you go in because its all cash and you will be hit with the high fee ATM once inside.

Great little place! Beautiful girls and great staff. Cheap drinks and much more comforting than the other local clubs.
